Q16 What is a Contact & Non-Contact Thermometer?

Non-contact temperature measuring instruments designed to measure the temperature by detecting infrared rays

The strength of infrared rays (energy amount) radiated from all the objects increases as the temperature becomes higher, and the temperature can be found out by detecting the energy amount.
Anritsu Meter’s radiation thermometers converge infrared rays emitted from the measurement object to warm a detection element, and measure the temperature change of the element to measure the temperature of the measurement object.

Once the radiation thermometers are “properly set,” they are very effective because they can measure without thermally affecting the measurement object. To “properly set” them, however, some knowledge is required.
